A Hero’s Journey
Christopher Reeve, best known for playing Superman, became a real-life hero after a 1995 horseback accident left him paralyzed.
Doctors said recovery was “impossible,” but his wife Dana told him, “You’re still you.
And I love you.” Together, they founded the Christopher Reeve Foundation to support spinal injury research.

Loss and Resilience
Will was just 13 when both parents died—his father from a heart attack in 2004, and his mother from lung cancer in 2006. “You’re at the lowest point of your life,” Will wrote in a letter to himself, “but… there’s nowhere to go but up.”
Legacy Lives On
Now 29 and a SportsCenter contributor, Will honors his parents’ mission: “A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.”
