Former President Barack Obama has made an interesting move just days after he admitted that his political activism in speaking out against President Donald Trump is causing \u201cgenuine tension\u201d with his wife. Rumors have circulated for years that Barack and<\/p>\n
Michelle Obama\u2019s marriage is in trouble and that they have been having issues. (Obama accused of committing treason for act against Trump) Despite the former first family denying the rumors, they have persisted.<\/p>\n
\u201cWishing all the moms out there a wonderful Mother\u2019s Day! To @MichelleObama, I\u2019m grateful for all the ways you\u2019ve shown up for our daughters and our family over the years. We love you,\u201d Barack captioned the image, which appeared to have been taken from early on in his political career. The photo showed the former politician sitting at his desk in a brown leather chair with his youngest daughter Sasha in his lap.<\/p>\n
Last week, Barack Obama told an outlet that Trump\u2019s policies and actions are causing him to remain more involved in politics \u201cthan I would have preferred.\u201d<\/p>\n
The former president shared a \u201cbehind-the-scenes\u201d photo of himself with his wife Michelle Obama and their two children in a Mother\u2019s Day tribute. (Photo of Barack goes viral for all the wrong reasons)
\n\u201cShe wants to see her husband easing up and spending more time with her, enjoying what remains of our lives,\u201d Barack said of Michelle in an interview with the New Yorker.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt does create a genuine tension in our household, and it frustrates her. I\u2019m more forgiving of it, in the sense that I understand why people feel that way, because people aren\u2019t looking at me in historical comparison to other presidents. They don\u2019t care about the fact that no other ex-president was the main surrogate for the Party for four election cycles after they left office,\u201d he said, making the issue all about himself, which is par for the course with him.<\/p>\n

Obama went on to falsely claim that he had held back from criticizing Trump since the latter took office in 2017. In reality, Obama has frequently criticized Trump and his policies, though he hasn\u2019t actually referred to Trump by name.<\/p>\n
That said, his renewed political involvement in left-wing causes has come at a personal cost
\nThe latest example was a speech he gave at the late civil rights icon Jesse Jackson\u2019s funeral, where comments he made were widely regarded as being directed toward Trump.<\/p>\n
