Ashley Biden Claps Back At Claims About Her Father’s Mental State

Ashley Biden strongly defended her father, Joe Biden, against renewed questions about his mental sharpness, calling the recent media attention “disrespectful and untrue” in an Instagram post on Monday, June 2.

Alongside a beach photo of herself with her parents, the former president and first lady Jill Biden, Ashley addressed the latest speculation sparked by books and news stories. She didn’t name any reporters or outlets but criticized the unnamed sources she says are spreading false claims.

Ashley wrote: “The ONLY coverup of this family is a BEACH coverup. He aged, YES! As we all do! And the stress of the presidency accelerates. But he was always MORE than capable of doing the job. And a damn good one.”

While Ashley didn’t directly mention CNN’s Jake Tapper or Axios’s Alex Thompson, her comments appeared to take aim at the core claim in their new book Original Sin, which accuses Biden’s team of hiding signs of decline during his time in office.

She added, “The noise is so D*** disrespectful and untrue. Created by those committed to perpetuating and profiting from some real BS. Get lost with your anonymous sources and fake news.”

Ashley went on to highlight her father’s commitment to public service, saying he “worked harder than anyone I have ever known” and carried out his presidential duties with a “sacred obligation.”

She also thanked those offering support following news of his prostate cancer diagnosis, saying she was “super grateful for the love and support.”

“We, like any family, chose HOPE during times of great despair/uphill battles. And we continue – to chose hope. That’s what Dad taught + gave us.”

Naomi Biden, Joe Biden’s granddaughter, also criticized Original Sin, slamming it as an exaggerated and unfounded attack on her grandfather’s record.

In a recent post on X, Naomi, 31, labeled the book “political fairy smut” and said it was designed to appeal to media insiders chasing attention.

She said: “Just read a copy of this silly book. Put simply, it amounts to a bunch of unoriginal, uninspired lies written by irresponsible self-promoting journalists out to make a quick buck.”

She also pushed back on the book’s reliance on anonymous sources, saying: “It relied on unnamed, anonymous sources pushing a self-serving false narrative.”

Ashley Biden’s public defense of her father has drawn strong reactions online. While meant to reinforce his strength and commitment, her remarks were met with skepticism and backlash from critics on social media.
