Carrot, egg or coffee: learn how you handle adversity

A young woman, overwhelmed by life’s challenges, turned to her grandmother for advice. Instead of words, her grandma led her to the kitchen, boiled carrots, eggs, and coffee beans in separate pots, then asked her to observe the results.

The carrot, once hard, became soft. The egg, once fragile, turned hard inside. But the coffee beans? They transformed the water into something rich and fragrant. Her grandmother explained: “Each faced the same boiling water, but responded differently.

Which are you? Do you weaken like the carrot, harden like the egg, or transform the situation like the coffee bean?”

The lesson: We can’t control adversity, but we can choose how we respond. Be the coffee bean—rise, adapt, and make something beautiful out of the heat.

So… which one are you?
