This ‘Wheel of Fortune’ Puzzle Has Fans Completely Baffled

Fans Stumped by ‘Wheel of Fortune’ Puzzle and Bonus Round Loss

Contestants Battle in a Close Game

On March 28, three contestants—Stephen Sporer from Minnesota, Christina White from California, and Megan Russell from West Virginia—faced off in a tense episode of Wheel of Fortune.

Sporer and Russell won the first two toss-ups, each earning $1,000. However, the opening puzzle hit a snag when all three landed on Bankrupt. Russell finally solved it, taking home $3,500.

Viewers Confused by “Seeing the Green Flash” Puzzle

The second puzzle’s category was “Event”, and White solved it with the phrase “Seeing the green flash.”

But viewers expressed confusion online.

“What does that even mean?” one user asked on Reddit.
“No idea,” admitted another.

Fortunately, hosts Ryan Seacrest and Vanna White explained the phrase later.

Vanna described the green flash as a rare optical effect seen right before the sun sets. Ryan shared his own experience watching it—a quick green light flickering as the sun dips below the horizon.

Fans appreciated the explanation. One wrote, “Glad they explained it, but I’d never heard of it before despite watching many sunsets.”
