Residents of an apartment building in Saint-Étienne, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, heard noises that sounded like a baby weeping on the evening of Saturday,

March 23 to Sunday, March 24 at approximately 4:30 a.m.

According to Le Progrès, the emergency personnel called the Départemental Fire and Rescue Service of Loire (SDIS) and sent a team from the Loire Samu to the scene.

An inquiry was started. On Sunday, March 24, the infant was taken to the CHU of Saint-Étienne and stayed there.
