How BFF Relationships Have Changed From the ’90s to Today

Growing up in the ’90s, having a best friend meant everything. You stayed up late chatting on the phone, shared inside jokes, and even coordinated your outfits like it was a full-time job. Friday nights in the ’90s meant trips to the mall, movie marathons, and sleepovers filled with music and popcorn. Now, quality time looks more like cozy nights in, favorite shows queued up, and heartfelt conversations after long days. The setting may have changed, but the connection hasn’t.

Back then, your best friend was the one who helped you rehearse your Spice Girls routine or plan the perfect classroom surprise. Today, they’re the ones who help you navigate work, life, and everything in between—with the same unwavering loyalty.
