The reports prompted an immediate emergency response. Patients, visitors, and staff were placed under lockdown as law enforcement moved quickly to secure the hospital campus and prevent further danger.
Authorities later confirmed that the suspect was an employee of the hospital. According to initial reports, the shooter targeted a fellow staff member, a 25-year-old coworker, and shot him twice in the arm.
