If your skin feels tight after showering, it may be a sign of overwashing.

Overuse of antibacterial soaps can also disturb the skin’s microbiome—the healthy bacteria that protect against infection and inflammation.

Hot or cold showers can affect body temperature, causing dizziness or fatigue, especially in older adults.

Warm, brief showers are safest.

Hair suffers too: too much shampooing removes essential oils, leading to dryness and breakage.

Experts suggest daily bathing for most people, but every two to three days may be enough for those with dry or sensitive skin.
