Brad Pitt Breaks Silence On Angelina Jolie Divorce: ‘Just A Legal Formality’

After the two eventually came to an agreement, Brad Pitt finally opened out about his nearly ten-year divorce from Angelina Jolie.

Due to his high-profile divorce from his second wife, fellow Mr. & Mrs. Smith co-star Jolie, Pitt, 61, has been the focus of a media frenzy for the past eight years.

The 49-year-old Jolie made a shocking allegation that the Fight Club star had mistreated her and their children, focussing especially on an alleged 2016 trip to France incident.

The Girl, Interrupted actress purportedly claimed she was attacked by her ex-husband during their divorce procedures, and that one of their children was also supposedly abused on the aircraft in question. Pitt has refuted this allegation.

Pitt was not charged when the FBI looked into the allegation as well.

On the last day of 2024, the couple struck a divorce settlement agreement.

Prior to the June 27 premiere of Pitt’s most recent film, F1: The Movie, in theatres throughout the United States, the 61-year-old spoke with GQ about the film’s production and, for the first time, he discussed the contentious divorce procedures.

Touching on how his family life has made headlines, the father-of-six said, “My personal life is always in the news. It’s been in the news for 30 years, bro. Or some version of my personal life, let’s put it that way.”

GQ Reporter Daniel Riley then questioned the Oklahoma-born actor, who is currently dating 32-year-old Ines de Ramon, about if F1: The Movie and the vehicle he used on set provided “refuge from all the attention?”

“Um, I don’t see it that way,” Pitt said. “It’s been an annoyance I’ve had to always deal with in different degrees, large and small, as I do the things I really want to do.”

“So, it’s always been this kind of nagging time suck or waste of time, if you let it be that, I don’t know. I don’t know. Mostly I feel pretty…. My life is fairly contained.”

“It feels pretty warm and secure with my friends, with my loves, with my fam, with my knowledge of who I am, that, you know, it’s like this fly buzzing around a little bit.”

And when asked if he feels different being on the other side of the divorce finally being finalized, and if he feels any relief, Pitt replied, “No, I don’t think it was that major of a thing. Just something coming to fruition. Legally.”
