The search for Savannah Guthrie’s missing mother, Nancy Guthrie, has taken a chilling turn. Police now confirm they have located DNA evidence at her home — and the property has officially been designated a crime scene. What started as a welfare..

The Search for Nancy Guthrie Continues
As authorities continue to investigate the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos confirmed that DNA evidence was found inside Nancy Guthrie’s home, which has now been declared a crime scene.

“We took some samples that we hope will have enough of a DNA profile,” Sheriff Nanos told NBC News in a report shared on Today Feb. 3, “that will give us some identification as to what we’re looking at.”

Nancy Guthrie, 84, who is also the mother of Annie Guthrie and Camron Guthrie, was last seen by family members around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31.

A concerned friend contacted the family after Nancy failed to show up for church the following morning. After her children searched the property for approximately an hour, authorities were contacted and Nancy was officially reported missing around noon on Sunday.

Since then, investigators have expressed serious concern that Nancy did not leave on her own.

During a Feb. 2 press conference, Sheriff Nanos said authorities believe Nancy was likely abducted, noting that her physical health would have prevented her from leaving voluntarily.

“We know she didn’t just walk out of there, that we know,” he said, adding, “There are other things at the site, at the scene, that indicate she did not leave on her own.”

The sheriff also stressed that Nancy requires daily medication, which she currently does not have access to.

According to Nanos, being without that medication for an extended period of time could prove fatal.

Despite the troubling evidence, Sheriff Nanos said there has been no indication that the public is currently in danger.

He added that investigators do not believe there is an active threat at this time.

The sheriff also confirmed that authorities have remained in close contact with Savannah Guthrie, who has been absent from Today since her mother’s disappearance, as well as her security team.

When asked whether the longtime Today anchor had received any threats, Nanos declined to speculate but noted, “We’re not going to dismiss any angles for sure.”

As the search continues, Savannah shared a heartfelt message asking for public support.

“Please pray,” she wrote in a message shared on Instagram Feb. 2.

“Thank you for lifting your prayers with ours for our beloved mom, our dearest Nancy,” the 54-year-old added, describing her mother as “a woman of deep conviction, a good and faithful servant.”

“Raise your prayers with us,” Savannah continued, “and believe with us that she will be lifted by them in this very moment. We need you. Bring her home.”

Savannah has long spoken about her close bond with her mother, who has lived in Arizona for more than 50 years.

Over the years, Savannah has described Nancy as adventurous, deeply faithful, and fiercely devoted to her family.

As authorities continue their investigation, law enforcement officials encourage anyone with information related to Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance to contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.

The search remains ongoing.
