Venus Williams Weds Actor Andrea Preti — Two Ceremonies in Italy and Florida

A Dream Wedding in Italy

Tennis legend Venus Williams said “I do” to actor-producer Andrea Preti, celebrating their love with two weddings. According to Vogue, their first ceremony took place on September 18 in Ischia, Italy. Venus shared, “We had this dream to do our wedding in Italy, but we didn’t have enough time to do the paperwork—because I’m a foreigner, it can take about eight months. So we decided to have a second wedding.”

Bringing the Celebration Home to Florida

Since Venus has roots in Florida, the couple held a second ceremony in Palm Beach. The event, planned by Jennifer Zabinski of JZ Events—the same company behind Serena Williams’ 2017 wedding—spanned an entire week of festivities leading up to the big day.

Venus described the week to Vogue: “They always say weddings go so fast, and they do. We started on Monday. Serena gave us this gift of a beautiful yacht, arranged all the food, everything. We had 10 to 12 of our closest family and friends on the boat, singing, dancing, gossiping, and just enjoying each other.”

Events Leading Up to the Ceremony

The pre-wedding week included a bridal shower and a romantic dinner at Miami’s Sopra members’ club. Venus and Preti ultimately wed in a courthouse ceremony on December 19. Venus wore a dress by Morilee New York. Preti told Vogue, “For me, the courthouse ceremony was very unique, emotional, and deep. It was the second-best day of my life.”

During the main ceremony, Preti walked out with his mother to “I’ll Be There” by the Jackson 5, symbolizing her support for Venus. Venus entered to “Ovunque Sarai” by Irama, a song that reminded her of her grandmother, who passed during COVID.

The couple read self-written vows, then recessed to “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” by Stevie Wonder. Their first dance at the reception featured “I Only Have Eyes for You” by the Flamingos, followed by an after-party at Sophia’s Hobe Sound.

Engagement and Planning

Venus confirmed her engagement to Preti in July 2025 during a post-match interview, months after rumors first surfaced in February. She praised Preti for supporting her through the tennis season, saying, “My fiancé encouraged me to keep playing… You guys don’t know how much work goes into this.”

Serena Williams also helped plan the wedding. She told PEOPLE, “Venus wanted me to help with dresses and hairstyles. She sent me 14 hairstyle options, and within 30 minutes, I had them in a PDF file with suggestions for everyone.”

A Private Yet Public Love

Venus and Preti first sparked romance rumors in July 2024 when spotted on a boat in Nerano, Italy. Engagement whispers began in February 2025 when Venus was seen wearing a ring during tennis training in Rome. The couple attended Milan Fashion Week, and a ring appeared again in photos. Vogue confirmed their engagement on January 31 in Tuscany.

About Andrea Preti

Born in Denmark, Preti moved to Italy as a teen. He has worked as a model and holds multiple acting and production credits.

Venus on Love and Life

Before her relationship with Preti, Venus emphasized she wasn’t rushing romance. In 2021, she told Cosmopolitan, “I like my life and I don’t want to change it… I’m not desperate.” She has previously been linked to model Elio Pis (2012) and Nicholas Hammond (2017), ending by 2019.
