Why bathing too much can harm y

Many people enjoy a hot daily shower, but experts say frequent washing can damage the skin.

The skin needs its natural oils and “good” bacteria to stay healthy.

When we shower too often, especially with hot water or strong soaps,

those oils are stripped away, leading to dryness, redness, itching, and flaking.

WebMD notes that healthy skin depends on its natural oil layer and its balance of “good” bacteria.

Water temperature matters too. Very hot showers can cause dizziness or lower blood pressure, while very cold showers can spike heart rate.

Dermatologists recommend warm, shorter showers.

Hair suffers in the same way — overwashing removes oils that keep it strong.

Most dermatologists suggest shampooing only two to three times a week.

Harvard Health also explains that extra-clean habits may reduce exposure to microbes the immune system needs.

For most adults, showering “two to three times a week” is enough.
