Supporters point to an estimated $3 trillion in tariff revenue over the next decade,
yet that money is neither guaranteed nor immediately available.
Eligibility would likely mirror past stimulus thresholds, favoring middle-
and lower-income households while excluding the highest earners,
though regional cost-of-living gaps make any single cutoff contentious.
Earlier ideas—from tariff rebate checks to a speculative $5,000 “DOGE dividend”—have stalled or faded.
For now, there is no enacted law, no IRS timeline, and no 2025 holiday payout.
