Jeep Crashes Into Amish Buggy, Leaving Seven Injured in Indiana
A late-night crash on State Road 218 near Berne, Indiana,
turned tragic when a Jeep struck a horse-drawn Amish buggy carrying nine people.
The impact shattered the buggy and sent debris across the road, while the Jeep landed in a nearby ditch.
Multiple Injuries Reported
Seven people were hospitalized, including six children.
The driver, 32-year-old Ruben L.M. Schwartz, was airlifted to Lutheran Hospital.
Joseph L.M. Schwartz, 20, and five minors were taken to Parkview Hospital.
A 2-year-old and Saraetta L. Schwartz, 32, declined treatment.
Driver and Investigation
The Jeep’s driver, Bradley J. Ocilka, 33, of Kentucky, underwent a legal blood draw but refused other care.
No charges have been filed as the crash remains under investigation.
