Pete Hegseth Donates $12.9 Million to Build Homeless Centers in Minneapolis
In a surprise announcement, Fox News host Pete Hegseth revealed he is donating his
entire $12.9 million in bonuses and sponsorship earnings to build homeless support centers in his hometown of Minneapolis.
“These streets shaped me,” he said. “This is my chance to give back in a way that truly matters.”
The project will include 150 permanent housing units and 300 shelter beds,
offering not just shelter but also job training, addiction recovery, and mental health services.
Hegseth called it a mission to address “the roots of homelessness, not just its symptoms.”
Minnesota’s harsh winters make the effort especially critical.
Local leaders praised the initiative as a “life-saving” step toward ending chronic homelessness.
“Money means little if it doesn’t serve a higher purpose,”
Hegseth said, urging others to use their success for service.
Construction begins this year, with the first units opening soon after.
