Trump Sparks Concern with ‘2028’ Oval Office Photo
Donald Trump has ignited concern after a recent Oval Office stunt that hinted at another presidential run. The 79-year-old has suggested multiple times that he might consider a third term—even though the 22nd Amendment bars anyone from serving more than two. Trump already won the presidency in 2016 and 2024.
In August, he offered an update on his plans for another bid. Then, on September 29, he posted a photo on Truth Social showing him in the Oval Office surrounded by ‘Trump 2028’ hats. The meeting with Democratic leaders aimed to avoid a government shutdown.
Jeffries Responds
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries criticized Trump for the stunt and an accompanying AI video mocking him. Speaking on CNN, Jeffries said:
“He is an unserious individual, and the Republicans are unserious at this point. They have no interest in good faith conversation. The erratic behavior we’ve seen should suggest who is pushing us toward a government shutdown.”
Government Shutdown Looms
The stunt came shortly after officials confirmed a government shutdown—the first since 2018-2019. Trump’s antics have only intensified the political drama, drawing criticism from both Democrats and the public.
