A Shocking Exchange
Nurse Lexi Kuenzle says her career was derailed after confronting
Dr. Matthew Jung, who allegedly “cheered” the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
When Kuenzle replied, “I love him,” Jung allegedly said, “I hate Charlie Kirk.
He had it coming. He deserved it.” She pressed him: “You’re a doctor. How could you say someone deserved to die?”
Retaliation Claim
Kuenzle reported the incident and shared her account online.
The next day, she says, she was suspended without pay.
Her lawsuit argues she was punished for speaking up, not for policy violations.
Legal Battle
Attorney John Coyle claims Englewood Health retaliated against Kuenzle’s Christian faith and created a hostile workplace. “She was punished for refusing to stay silent,” he said.
Wider Fallout
Englewood confirmed both Kuenzle and Jung were suspended during an investigation. Kuenzle insists the issue is “about basic human dignity,” warning: “If patients can’t trust us to rise above politics, then what do we have left?”
