Kamala Harris calls Trump a ‘con man’ after sharing shocking private remarks he made to her

Kamala Harris Calls Trump a ‘Con Man’ in Fiery New Memoir

A Historic Election

Kamala Harris stepped in as Joe Biden’s successor when he withdrew from the presidential race in June 2024. She faced Donald Trump in a tense election. The race was close, but Trump ultimately prevailed, winning the national popular vote with 49.8 percent.

Public Battles and Private Remarks

During the campaigns, Harris and Trump exchanged harsh public criticisms. At one point, Trump called Harris “mentally impaired.” Yet their public feud contrasted with private conversations.

In her new memoir 107 Days, released September 23, Harris recounts a phone call with Trump following the second assassination attempt against him.

Behind Closed Doors

While Trump publicly attacked Harris, he reportedly praised her in private. He allegedly said, “How do I say bad things about you now? I’m going to tone it down. I will. You’re going to see.” Trump even mentioned that his daughter Ivanka was “a big fan” of Harris.

However, Harris didn’t fall for the flattery. “He’s a con man. He’s really good at it,” she wrote, according to The Guardian.

Criticism of Biden

Harris also took aim at Biden in her memoir. She described his decision to run for a second term as “reckless.” Reflecting on her own role, she wrote: “Was it grace, or was it recklessness? In retrospect, I think it was recklessness. The stakes were simply too high. This wasn’t a choice that should have been left to an individual’s ego, an individual’s ambition. It should have been more than a personal decision.”

A Memoir That Reveals It All

107 Days exposes both the public battles and private exchanges of a heated political period. Harris spares no words, calling out Trump’s tactics and questioning Biden’s choices, giving readers an inside look at the high-stakes world of national politics.
