Authorities reported that Bernard’s body was discovered earlier this week in San Jacinto, California.

Police responded to a call regarding an unattended death on Tuesday, and her identity was confirmed through fingerprint records.

The Riverside County Coroner’s Office is set to conduct an autopsy, though the official cause of death has not yet been released.

In addition to her work on General Hospital, Bernard portrayed a psychologist in the 2002 film Voices from the High School.
