Anthony Hopkins pokes fun at Kim Kardashian using a Hannibal Lecter face wrap

Anthony Hopkins just took a shot at Kim Kardashian’s new face wrap, and the internet can’t get enough. He posted a clip on Instagram where he put on the Skims sculpting mask and immediately slipped into Hannibal Lecter mode.

He said: “Hello Kim, I’m already feeling 10 years younger. Goodbye. Thank you, Kim. Don’t be afraid to come over for dinner.” That last part came with the creepy slurp from Silence of the Lambs.

The product, which is officially called the SKIMS Seamless Sculpt Face Wrap, claims to tighten your jaw and neck using a stretchy fabric with collagen yarns. But dermatologists are not impressed and say it’s basically a fancy compression band.

One surgeon said: “It’s really not going to make any long-term structural changes of any kind.” He explained that the kind of results people want would need fat distribution or real skin tightening procedures.

He also said: “Don’t waste your money on this one. I understand how shapewear can make you look good with clothes on, but sleeping with this is not going to have any effect.”

Despite that, it sold out on the SKIMS site within a day. People online joked that it looked like something out of a hostage situation or a medieval movie, and started calling it the “Lecter wrap.”

Some influencers and critics said it shows a bigger problem with where the beauty world is heading. One of them said: “What if your face doesn’t need to be snatched and lifted? What makes us beautiful is that we don’t all look the same.”

Others saw it more as a post-surgery tool, maybe helpful after a facelift or lipo, but not for your average person trying to look younger while watching TV.

Kim herself called it a must-have and said: “It snatches your little chinny chin chin. It’s super comfortable to wear at night or just around the house.” But her fans and critics are definitely not on the same page.

One person online wrote: “There’s a 16-year-old girl out there thinking she needs to buy this crap.” Another said: “SKIMS—making women feel bad about themselves since 2018.”
