Trump Calls Sydney Sweeney Hot And Taylor Swift Not

Donald Trump gave Sydney Sweeney a full-on stamp of approval after hearing she might be a Republican. He said: “I’m glad you told me that.” Then he doubled down by praising her American Eagle ad, saying: “If Sydney Sweeney is a registered Republican, I think her ad is fantastic.”

Trump’s exact voter info claim hasn’t been verified. The voter record in Florida may line up with her, but it hasn’t been confirmed as hers and she hasn’t commented on it either way. Still, he treated it as fact and ran with it.

He later posted on Truth Social: “Sydney Sweeney, a registered Republican, has the ‘HOTTEST’ ad out there. It’s for American Eagle, and the jeans are ‘flying off the shelves.’ Go get ’em Sydney!”

Then he started going after other brands. Trump wrote: “Jaguar did a stupid, and seriously WOKE advertisement… Who wants to buy a Jaguar after looking at that disgraceful ad? Shouldn’t they have learned a lesson from Bud Lite… Or just look at Woke singer Taylor Swift… She was booed out of the Super Bowl and became, NO LONGER HOT.”

He ended his message by saying: “The tide has seriously turned — Being WOKE is for losers, being Republican is what you want to be.”

People online had mixed reactions. Some on Truth Social cheered him on, saying being bold and Republican is the new cool. Others, especially on X, called the post sexist and embarrassing. One person wrote: “Speaking down so confidently on beautiful women as if he isn’t the ugliest man in America is bold of him.”

Another post said: “I genuinely don’t understand how people are okay with any president speaking like this about women, about citizens of their own country. It’s beyond politics at this point. It’s embarrassing.” Others thought Trump was still mad Swift didn’t support him. One person wrote: “The man is still furious Taylor Swift didn’t endorse him. It’s giving high school crush rejection energy.”

Sweeney’s ad has stirred up its own controversy. It shows her saying: “Genes are passed down from parent to offspring… My genes are blue.” Then the ad changes it to: “Sydney Sweeney has great jeans,” with “genes” crossed out. Some critics called it racist, saying it glorifies whiteness with her blue eyes and blonde hair.

Meanwhile, Republicans have jumped in to defend her. JD Vance said on a podcast: “You have, like, a normal all-American beautiful girl doing a normal jeans ad… and they’ve managed to so unhinge themselves over this thing. My political advice to the Democrats is continue to tell everybody who thinks Sydney Sweeney is attractive is a Nazi.”

White House Communications Director Steven Cheung said the reaction shows “warped, moronic, and dense liberal thinking.” He said it’s the reason “Americans voted the way they did in 2024.”

American Eagle is standing by the ad. They said on Instagram the message “was always about the jeans.” But with Trump now treating it like campaign material, the ad has become part of a much bigger fig.ht.
