Disappearance Sparks Urgent Search

Rachel Booth, a 38-year-old mother of three from Barnton in Northwich, was found dead in a lake in Oakmere on Monday, July 21, 2025. Her family had reported her missing two days earlier, sparking an urgent search by Cheshire Police.

Booth, also known as Rachel Langley and Helena, was last seen around 3:50 a.m. on Saturday, July 19. CCTV footage captured her at the Shell petrol station at Sandiway Garage on the A556. She wore black leggings and a black top. At the time, she was described as 5 feet 9 inches tall, slim, and blonde.

Final Sighting at Petrol Station

Isaac Carolan, 19, an employee at the garage, spoke with The Sun. He said a colleague served Booth that morning. “She bought milk and wine and jogged from 45 minutes away. But it didn’t seem weird — she wasn’t flustered or disturbed,” he recalled.

Intense Search Operation Launched

Following her disappearance, police deployed sniffer dogs, officers, and specialist divers. Search efforts focused on the Oakmere area near Delamere Lake Holiday Park, close to the Wild Shore Delamere water sports site.

On Monday, police divers recovered a body from the lake. Later that day, authorities formally identified the remains as Rachel Booth. Cheshire Police stated there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding her d**th. A file has been prepared for the coroner.

Community and Family Devastated

Booth lived in Barnton with her husband, Carl Langley, and their three sons — Alfie, Archie, and Ronnie. Her d**th sent shockwaves through the tight-knit village. Neighbors described her as active, kind, and deeply loved.

Raj Kaur, who works at a Premier convenience store near Booth’s home, shared her heartbreak. “We’ve all been praying for her. Everyone wanted her to be found safe. It’s so very sad — she had three children.”

Another local mother added, “I knew her from school. She was always pleasant. Her three boys go there too.”

Family Tribute: “A Light in Our Lives”

Booth’s family issued a heartfelt statement through Cheshire Police.
“Rachel, who was known to us as Helena, was a cherished member of our family. She was a guiding light whose strength, love, and devotion touched us all.”

They continued, “Her kindness was constant and her presence a strength to everyone she knew — a loving mother, wife, daughter, and sister who can never be replaced but will always remain in our hearts.”

The family also thanked everyone who joined the search and supported them during the ordeal.

Fundraiser Launched in Her Honor

In the days following her death, a GoFundMe campaign was launched to support Booth’s family. So far, it has raised over £8,800 (approximately $11,900) toward a £13,000 ($17,600) goal.

Organizers said all proceeds will go into a trust for her three sons. A portion will also support an ADHD-related charity — a cause close to the family’s heart.

“Your generosity, no matter how big or small, is deeply appreciated,” the fundraiser description reads. “Thank you for helping us give Rachel the beautiful farewell she deserves.”
