Gov. Gavin Newsom Caught in Major Lie about LA Riots

In a cowardly reaction characteristic of the beleaguered Democrat, California Governor Gavin Newsom inaccurately asserted that the Los Angeles riots commenced on Saturday, June 7, 2025, following President Trump’s federalization of the California National Guard. However, the evidence indicates that the riot actually began the previous day, in the wake of ICE immigration operations in Southern California.

In response to these chaotic riots, Trump deployed thousands of National Guardsmen and subsequently mobilized several hundred Marines to restore order. These blatant inaccuracies have sparked criticism of Newsom for his ineffective leadership and political opportunism.

This was evident when Newsom made a series of misleading statements in recounting the events. He stated, “On Saturday morning, when federal agents emerged from an unmarked van near a Home Depot parking lot, they began detaining individuals.”

Continuing his fabrications, the Democrat asserted, “In response, every day Angelinos took to the streets to exercise their Constitutional right to free speech and assembly, protesting their government’s actions. Consequently, the State of California and the City and County of Los Angeles deployed our police officers to help maintain order, and with some exceptions, they were largely successful.”

Shifting the blame onto the president, Newsom lamented, “Donald Trump, without consulting California’s law enforcement leaders, commandeered 2,000 of our state’s National Guard members to patrol our streets. That’s when the downward spiral commenced. He exacerbated the situation by intensifying his dangerous National Guard deployment.”

In conclusion of his misleading statements, the California Democrat proclaimed, “And the President did it intentionally. As news spread throughout LA, anxiety for family and friends escalated. Protests reignited. By nightfall, several dozen lawbreakers turned violent and destructive, vandalizing property and attempting to assault police officers.

As we have reported, Gavin Newsom is so eager to evade accountability for his actions that he has initiated a lawsuit against Donald Trump. In a message posted on X, the Democrat remarked, “In response to President Trump’s call for the arrest of Governor Gavin Newsom, the Governor and Attorney General Rob Bonta are today filing a lawsuit against the Trump administration to terminate the unlawful and unnecessary takeover of a CalGuard unit, which has unnecessarily heightened chaos and violence in the Los Angeles area.”

Continuing his outburst, he stated, “The lawsuit, which names President Trump, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and the Department of Defense, details how the takeover contravenes the U.S. Constitution and exceeds the President’s Title 10 authority, not only because the takeover was executed without the Governor’s consent or input, as mandated by federal law, but also because it was unjustified.”

In conclusion to his dramatic post, Newsom asserted, “Donald Trump is instilling fear and terror by neglecting to comply with the U.S. Constitution and overstepping his authority. This is a contrived crisis designed to enable him to seize control of a state militia, undermining the very foundation of our republic. Every governor, regardless of party affiliation, should denounce this outrageous overreach. This transcends mere incompetence — it is a deliberate act of creating chaos, terrorizing communities, and jeopardizing the principles of our esteemed democracy. It represents a clear move towards authoritarianism. We will not allow this to persist.”]} }}]}
