White House condems “depraved lie” about Donald Trump & Texas floods

White House Slams “Depraved Lie” Blaming Trump for Deadly Texas Floods

Tragedy in Texas: Over 100 D**d in Flash Floods

The d**th toll from the devastating flash floods in Texas has now exceeded 100. Torrential rains hit the Texas Hill Country, sending the Guadalupe River surging 26 feet in just 45 minutes on Friday.

Rescue efforts continue, especially near Camp Mystic, a Christian girls’ camp. As of Monday, 10 campers and one counselor remain missing. The 104 known victims include 27 children and staff from the camp.

Camp Mystic released a heartbreaking statement:

“Our hearts are broken… We ask for continued prayers, respect, and privacy for each of our families affected.”

Governor Abbott Reacts: “Horrific” Damage

Texas Governor Greg Abbott visited the site and described the destruction as “nothing short of horrific.”
He posted on X (formerly Twitter):

“The river reached the tops of cabins. We won’t stop until we find every girl who was in those cabins.”

Despite the speed of the disaster, officials are now questioning whether better w*rnings could have saved lives.

Officials Point to National Weather Service Cuts

The New York Times reported that local officials are blaming the National Weather Service (NWS) for failing to issue timely w*rnings.

Earlier this year, over 600 NWS employees either retired or were laid off due to budget cuts tied to the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Texas officials now claim those vacancies may have slowed emergency alerts.

Some even point fingers at former President Donald Trump, whose administration launched the cost-cutting measures.

Trump Responds: “It Was a 100-Year Catastrophe”

When asked about the NWS cuts, Trump pushed back:

“That wasn’t our setup—that was the Biden setup. But I wouldn’t blame Biden either. It was a 100-year catastrophe.”

He called the flooding “so horrible to watch” and emphasized the scale and suddenness of the event.

White House: “Blaming Trump Is a Depraved Lie”

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt strongly defended Trump.

“Blaming President Trump for these floods is a depraved lie. It serves no purpose in this time of national mourning.”

Leavitt added that the flood was an “act of God,” and that the NWS fulfilled its duties with consistent early w*rnings.

Trump Signs Disaster Declaration, Plans Visit

On Sunday, Trump signed a major disaster declaration for Kerr County.
He announced plans to visit Texas on Friday, though his exact itinerary remains unclear.

“That was a terrible event,” Trump told reporters. “Texas was so badly hurt by something that hit as a big surprise late in the evening.”

Final Thoughts

As Texas mourns, rescue teams continue the search for the missing. The political blame game adds tension to an already heartbreaking crisis.

Our thoughts remain with the families and communities affected by this devastating tragedy.
